3:15 a.m. – Mommy’s contractions were 1 minute long, 5 minutes apart for over 1 hour so we paged our midwives. Midwife Cathy called us back and talked to us for a few minutes and then got in her car to come and visit with us.
3:55 a.m. – Cathy arrived to the house and boy was she ever calm. Right away Mommy and Daddy felt a whole lot better. She game Stef an examination and told us that Stef was 2 cm dilated and that we still had a ways to go. She suggested that Mom and Dad get some sleep. Right, like that was gonna happen! Mommy got a dose of gravol to help her rest a little between the contractions. Cathy went back to her house at 5:30 a.m.
9:15 a.m. – Mommy’s contractions were really bad and hurting her now so she told Daddy to take her to the hospital. Daddy called Midwife Cathy and asked her to meet them at the hospital. It took Mommy a really long time to get into the car so luckily everyone arrived at the hospital at the same time.
10:10 a.m. – Mommy, Daddy, and Midwife Cathy were set-up in a delivery room ready to go. Mommy was 6-7 cm dilated and in lots of pain but managing it very well. She is so strong my Mommy. Midwife Cathy called for backup and Midwife Gina said she was ready when we needed her.
11:00 a.m. – Mommy’s contractions were getting really strong and Midwife Cathy called Midwife Gina and asked her to come to the hospital.
12:56 p.m. – I decided it was time for me to come out of Mommy’s wonderful womb and join the real world, so Mommy had to start pushing. Mommy was so strong and amazing, she pushed and pushed and pushed. It didn’t take very long before you could see my head.
1:06 p.m. – I was born and immediately jumped onto Mommy’s belly to rest from all that hard work. Mommy and Daddy were so happy to see me they both started crying. Midwife Cathy and Midwife Gina were so awesome. They checked me to make sure I was okay and then got right to work on Mommy. Mommy was perfect, she didn’t even use any drugs; I was born totally naturally. Love Charlie.
