Day 82 – 142 – Wow, Long Time – Part 2 of 3

Daddy had to go back to work.  Ahhh, come on Daddy stay home and play with me please.  What’s this work thing you are talking about.  I don’t like it.

To celebrate school starting again Mommy and her girlfriends and all the babies went out for a delicious brunch at Coras.

After Daddy started work Mommy and Grandma Marjorie took me on my first plane ride.  We flew to Nova Scotia to visit Auntie Rachel.  The plane ride was great and I was a super good baby.  Everyone commented on how quiet and well behaved I was.  I am just trying to lull my parents into a false sense of security for when I am a teenager MUHAHAHAHHA!  Auntie Rachel picked us up at the airport and then we went for a long car ride to Antigonish.  I got to see Auntie Rachel’s house and meet Ramona the cat.  Ramona is usually really friendly (or so I am told) but she didn’t like me very much.  I think she was jealous of all the hugs I was getting from Auntie Rachel.

We all (well not Ramona) went out for dinner at a great restaurant called Boyd’s Seafood Galley.  It was by the ocean and the view was fantastic.  At least that’s what Mommy told me because I slept most of the evening.  We visited the beach and I got to go swimming after I had a large accident in my diaper.  The water felt kinda funny.  Mommy says that’s because its got lots of salt in it.  We also went on a long walk at Arisaig Provincial Park.  Grandma Marjorie is such a fast walker and went off ahead of Mommy, Rachel and me.  We had to go a little slower, but we took our time and enjoyed the view.  Maybe when I am older I will be able to keep up with Grandma Marjorie.

Some other fun things we did with Auntie Rachel; we went to the Antigonish Farmers Market for breakfast and met lots Auntie Rachel’s friends.  Auntie Rachel had a special dinner for Mommy and she cooked Lobster!  It was so cool.  I can’t wait until I am old enough to eat lobster.  One of the best things we did when we were in Nova Scotia was go to Auntie Rachel’s Ice Cream and Tricks party.  Lots of her friends came over and we made lots of flavours of ice cream and people had to show off tricks that they can do.  I think my trick was the best . . . I can put my whole hand in my mouth!

Pretty soon our visit was over and we flew back to Daddy in Ontario.  I was really good on the flight again and everyone was so proud of me.  Daddy met us at the airport and boy did he miss me.  He kissed and hugged me like crazy.  I guess I missed him too, but I was really excited to see Molly.  I mean a whole week without my big sister?  What’s a guy to do!

Auntie Sarah and Elle came back to Canada for another visit and we went to Sears to get some photographs taken.  Elle and I posed a bunch of times but we’re babies and there weren’t really any great pictures of both of us looking happy.  There was one good one of me, and a pretty good one of Elle and I with our naked bums showing.  Hee Hee.

On the weekend of the 16′th I got to go to my very first birthday party.  Hélène turned ONE!  Can you believe it?  It was an amazing party.  There were lots of babies, kids, and adults running around.  It was a nice day so we got to all play in the backyard.  Hélène got a Dora and Calliou cake, but even cooler, she got her very own chocolate cupcake to eat, all by herself.  She made such a mess it was amazing.  I can’t wait until my first birthday.  I hope I get my very own cake too.

Also that weekend to celebrate Auntie Sarah and Elle visiting again we had an Echlin Family Dinner.  We went to Tucker’s Marketplace.  We took up three whole tables with all the baby stuff.  I got to play with Elle, and get hugs and kisses from everyone.  There was so much delicious food there that Daddy ate too much.  He tells me that he always eats too much at Tuckers.  Maybe we can go there for my birthday when I am bigger?

On the 19′th Mommy and I went over to Grammy and Poppa’s (Grandma Barbie and Grandpa Taylor want to be called these new names, I’ll try hard to learn them) house.  We got to meet Peter and Stephanie for the first time.  Daddy tells me that Stephanie makes the most amazing food in the whole world.  I hope I get to try some soon.  Sarah and Elle were leaving to go back to California today so I got lots of loves from everyone and said goodbye.

On the 20′th Mommy and I went to visit Daddy at work.  We took all the kids to the zoo for a fun field trip.  The weather was excellent and we saw lots of animals.  My favourites were the Polar Bears and the Penguins.  These penguins are special though they don’t come from Antartica.  They usually live in Africa.  Crazy huh!  Daddy’s kids were really well behaved and we had a perfect trip.  The weather was sunny and the animals were all out to visit.  We even saw a great big huge elephant have a poop.  That gave me an idea and I decided to have a big poop too.  Fun!

On the 22′nd Mommy and I went for our first swimming lesson, but only one other baby showed up.  It was fun, but not as great as swimming in Sunfish Lake.  After swimming Mommy met her Mommy and Baby group for lunch.

On the 23′rd Mommy, Molly, and I drove to visit Grandma Marjorie.  We spent the whole day with her.  We played ball with Molly in the basement and then we canned tomatoes.  It is strange that its called canning tomatoes because we actually put them into jars.  Maybe I am confused about the process.  Mommy tells me that these are the most delicious tomatoes ever.  Pretty soon I will get to try them . . . if Daddy doesn’t eat them all first.

On the 24′th Mommy and Daddy took me to Doug’s house for a huge party.  We arrived with the early group and went for a fun walk through the forest.  I got to ride with Daddy in the Baby Hawk.  When we got back to Doug’s house there were already people there, and they kept arriving all night.  There were babies and adults everywhere.  There was so much food and excitement that I started to get a little cranky.  But I snuggled up on Daddy’s lap and had a nice nap.  It was a perfect party.

On the 26′th Mommy and the Mommies and Babies group met for lunch.  They had a special guest come to the party, Gwen.  Gwen teaches baby sign language.  All of us are learning it together, every week.  I don’t quite get how it works yet, but that maybe because I don’t really have great control over my hands yet.  But I will keep working on it and I’m sure to get it soon.

On the 29′th I went to see the doctor again.  I got my 4 month shots and because I still haven’t really being pooping like I should Dr. Hewitt says I can have some apple juice every day.   Yum my first real food, well drink really, but you know what I mean.  For my swimming lesson today I got to do something I have never done before: swim UNDERWATER.  Yup that’s right, I held my breath and swam with my head under the water.  I am a superhero!  After swimming and the doctor we went and visited Grammy and Poppa at the office.  They are always so happy to see me.
