Hi everyone (well at least to the 4 of you who are reading my blog: Grammy, Scott, Auntie Elaine, and Rebecca). Perhaps there are more readers but you 4 are the only awesome ones who wrote me an e-mail. If you want to e-mail me you can reach contact me at my e-mail address:
I’d love to hear from everyone who reads my blogs and looks at my pictures. So if you read the blog and look at the pictures, please e-mail me. I hope that I have more than 4 friends.
I have been very busy in the last couple of weeks since my last blog post. I am going to abandon the daily format and give my updates in more of a digest. I may forget some of the fun stuff but it will be a little easier to keep up with all the web-work this way.
So, what have I done since I last wrote?
On July 21, 2011 I got my first set of shots from my doctor. Mommy was really worries that it was going to hurt but I was super brave. I barely cried at all, just a little when the needles went in. Everything went well with the needles and we headed up to the cottage to visit with some of Daddy’s friends from a long time ago.
Ben, Stephanie, and their kids Joshua and Gabriel came for a visit all the way from China. I don’t know where that is, but Mommy tells me it is really far away. We had lots of fun when they were here. We swam, ate, played and even did a live video chat with Daddy and Ben’s friend Andrew in Australia. Computers sure can do cool things.
We went back home and met some of our friends at Stars and Strollers for another movie. Daddy was really excited to see this one, it was Harry Potter 7, part 2. Unfortunately at this baby movie there was a baby who was super scared and she cried and screamed and cried and screamed. Usually when a baby does that their mommy or daddy picks them up and tries to comfort them. I guess this baby’s parents were too busy watching the movie to notice. It made Daddy really angry, but he kept his cool and tried to enjoy the movie with me. It was a little scary and I didn’t really understand all of it because I haven’t read the books yet or seen any of the other movies. Mommy says that when I am older I can do both. Woohoo!
Ivy came over for a visit and we got to babysit her. She was really unhappy that her mommy left her with us and she cried a lot. I tried to tell her that my mommy and daddy are lots of fun but Ivy said she just loved her mommy. I got the great idea to take Molly for a walk because everyone likes that. We got hooked up with our strollers and went for a nice long walk. I was right, Ivy loved the walk and she stopped crying and had a great long nap. It was a fun visit, but next time maybe Ivy and I can go in the same stroller so we can snuggle? What do you think Uncle Scott?
We went back to the cottage and had a short visit with Grandma Barbie. Then she and Grandpa Taylor left for a sailing vacation. Elmo got to stay with us. Robyn and Gigi came up for a visit and we did the usual cottage fun, eat, sleep and swim. Daddy and Shawn also spent some time chopping up a huge tree branch that fell on the dock during a storm. Daddy got to use something called a chainsaw. I hope he teaches me to use it someday.
After Robyn and Gigi went home we had some more friends come to visit. Jeremy, Julie, Benjamin and their dog Colby came up to the cottage. Colby was super excited and ran all around wagging his whole body. I got to hang out with everyone but I felt a little left out at one part of the visit because everyone had out their iPhones using them to do stuff except me. How come I don’t have an iPhone yet Dad? I even got to team up and play a great game of Risk with everyone.
After the Watson’s visit we went back home to get more diapers. We were too late for Stars and Strollers this week though. When we got home Daddy noticed that Molly had a funny rash on her neck so they had to go to the vet. Dr. Katie wasn’t available but Molly got to see one of the other vets. Molly had to get some medicine for her rash and for her ears. Poor baby.
We went back to the cottage and guess what, we had even more guests. Rebecca, Scott, Ivy, Amy, Sebastién, Hélène, Grandma Marjorie and . . . even better . . . Auntie Rachel came all the way from Nova Scotia to visit me. The cottage was CRAZY. There was so much baby stuff everywhere you could hardly move. Hélène is able to crawl around so fast and she zoomed everywhere. Ivy and I can’t crawl yet, but just wait, we’ll catch up soon. We swam and ate and did lots of fun baby stuff. We even ventured to the Farmer’s Market for breakfast. It was really crowded though, but the food was yummy. Or at least that’s what Dad said. I didn’t get to try any.
Pretty soon almost everyone went home, but Amy, Sebastién and Hélène stayed for an extra day. We celebrated Mommy and Daddy’s first wedding anniversary by eating the top of their wedding cake from last year. It had been kept safe in the freezer. Can you believe that only a year ago my Mommy and Daddy got married, and then 10 months later, I was born!!! It’s almost like they planned it.
After everyone left Mommy and Daddy spent a whole day cleaning because the cottage was a real mess from all the company and doggies. After that Grandma Marjorie can back for another visit.
Oh, big news, I have learned how to smile and I can almost hold my head up all on my own. It is still pretty wobbly but I am working hard on my strength training so, pretty soon, I’ll be able to do it all on my own.
Talk too you soon, Love Charlie.
